HOW IT LOOKS:
After installing the plugin, users will be able to answer to other user's comments. Their answer will be placed under comment they were answering to, with left indent to distinguish different threads.
Comments have multilevel structure, which means you can comment comments which are answers to other comments.
You can choose wether comments should be displayed all at once, or wether child comments should be loaded by AJAX. You can also set wether you want to allow posting forum posts that are not an answer to other forum posts.
Since the plugin modifies Elgg's database to support threaded comments, the plugin won't stress the database.
If you're upgrading Your Elgg from version 1.6 to 1.7:
Please make sure to backup your annotation table first. Update script can overwrite parent id's of threads in database, making them non-threaded. In this case you have to copy thread ID's from older version of Elgg yourself.
INSTALLATION:
- copy to mod folder and enable
- make sure the plugin is below the groups plugin on plugin list
- go to plugin's settings and hit 'setup database' link
Plugins from Elggdev are often updated for free once newer versions of Elgg is released. This is not a rule though. Some of the less popular plugins will be updated with a delay. You can speed up this process by funding the update.
